Nathan Garcia

Bio

Nathan Garcia is an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a member of the university’s Honors College. He joined the MDI Lab in the spring of 2025, contributing to the Fiber Optic Microneedle Device (FMD) project as an undergraduate research assistant. Nathan’s academic interests include medical device design, robotics and automation, and renewable energy systems. Outside of the lab, he works part-time at REI, where he helps customers with bike maintenance and gear outfitting. He’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys playing guitar, spending time with friends, and hanging out with his dog, Kurama.
